THIS thug will think twice before stealing from residents again.
He was allegedly caught stealing pots and taps yesterday and was stripped naked and made to do a walk of shame before apologising to residents.
After giving him people’s justice, the community of J section in KwaMashu, north of Durban, made him swear never to steal from them again!
A resident, who asked not to be named, said they saw the thug walking fast with a big bag and became suspicious. When community members tried to stop him, he ran away.
“We caught him, but he refused to open his bag. When we looked inside we saw he had stolen pots and taps,” said the resident.
“An angry crowd soon formed and started beating him. We do not want people to come and steal from us. We bought these taps and pots. I am sure the man is a whoonga addict, judging by the way he walked.
Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident.
“The victim was allegedly assaulted by the community and sustained serious injuries. A case was opened at KwaMashu Police Station,” he said.
