The Speaker in the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete has rejected an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) request for a debate on the removal of President Jacob Zuma from Wednesday’s proceedings involving the budget of the Presidency.
She has also ordered a number of EFF members to leave after chaos erupted in the Chamber.
EFF MP, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, argued that President Zuma had broken his Oath of Office regarding the Public Protector's remedial action on Nkandla, and should therefore not be allowed to address the Chamber.
The Democratic Alliance's (DA) John Steenhuizen disagreed, saying the National Assembly should be allowed to address MPs and apologise to Parliament and all South Africans for breaking his Oath of Office.
Ndlozi and other EFF members then began shouting at Mbete and she ordered them to leave the Chamber.
