A second Cameroonian footballer has died this weekend less than 48 hours after Patrick Ekeng's tragic death.
Female goalkeeper Jeanine Christelle Djomnang, 26, passed away after collapsing during her warm-up before a Femina Stars Ebolowa match on Sunday.
The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) confirmed that she died after being rushed to a hospital in southern Cameroon.
Fecafoot say that initial reports suggest she died of a heart attack but they are now waiting for the formal medical report.
Djomnang reportedly complained of chest pains ahead of the Cameroon elite league match against MINPROFF Yaounde but she died on her way to hospital.
Cameroon's African Women Footballer of the Year Gaelle Enganamouit, who now plays in Sweden, reacted to the news on social media.
