Screen siren Nomzamo Mbatha reveals that she will bare it all in an upcoming episode of “Umlilo”.
Mbatha, noted for her vixen role as Thembi/Kwezi on the hit etv drama, insists that the decision to go nude on-screen was not to be provocative, but rather to stay true to the storyline.
“I think the new season of Umlilo has seen one of my best work. The audience can look forward to a lot of action. A lot of emotion, ups and downs. Some risqué scenes and nudity. Lots of nudity from me unfortunately,” Mbatha points out.
“It’s done in a very tasteful way. It’s not just about going n_ude for the sake of being n_ude. It’s nothing s_exy. It’s just about staying true to the storyline. No overtly s_exy n_udity from me, I’ll never ever do that.”
Aside from Umlilo, Mbatha continues to dazzle viewers weekdays as fan-favourite Thandeka on Mzansi Magic’s primetime soapie Isibaya.

In the current storyline Thandeka is embroiled in a love-triangle with her husband Sbu (Sdumo Mtshali) and his childhood sweetheart Mabuyi (Samukele Mkhize). Sbu drops a huge bombshell on Thandeka when he reveals that he wants to take a second wife.
“I love where the story of Thandeka and Sbu is going. It’s incredible to tell a story that important about women and different situations that they get to be put through by men,” Mbatha enthuses.
“It’s an important narrative that I have to be very careful in the way that I handle it. You never want to portray women as angry. You want to portray women as supportive of each other, but also wanting their voice to be heard in society.”
It’s been almost a year since Mbatha was announced as the face of Neutrogena; joining Hollywood A-listers Jennifer Garner and Kerry Washington. She reflects that her journey with the international skin-care brand has been amazing and has opened a lot of doors for her overseas.

“The feedback has been incredible as the face of the brand. My international footprint has broadened. It has been amazing to see my life unfold in a short amount of time,” Mbatha says.
“Now, we are launching a global campaign with Neutrogena. It’s called the ‘See What’s Possible’ global campaign. Kerry Washington and Jennifer Garner has shot their campaign. And I’m in the process of shooting mine.”
