Isidingo fans were left speechless after it was announced soapie favorite Kgomotso Christopher is set to leave the top series.
Christopher has been with the SABC 3 daily drama for five years and she now wants to explore new acting roles which she did not divulge on.
She plays a leading role of Katlego Sibeko from the rich Sibeko family that owns mines. She has been one of the anchors of the series.
Christopher will appear on the soapie for the last time in April 13, 2016.
“We will miss and thank her for the pivotal and positive part she’s played,” says the Endemol Shine CEO, Sivan Pillay.
“Kgomotso’s talent, grace, charm and absolute professionalism will be missed by cast, crew and fans alike.”
Christopher announced on Thursday that she would be leaving SABC3’s signature soapie,Isidingo, to explore new career opportunities.
“I’ve left the show, planning to avail myself for any new adventures or roles. It’s been five strict full-time years, meaning that I haven’t always been able to take other work opportunities or roles. I made the decision on that basis, knowing that it’s time to stretch my wings,” Christopher said.
Her role as Katlego has added to the show’s success, attracting many fans over the years. Christopher is a fan favourite, not only because of her charismatic personality on and off the screen, but also because she constantly engages with her fans on social media during and after episodes.
