Hi everyone,
I’m back with another dilemma and was hoping to get a few opinions and advice possibly! I hope I am not boring everyone on this board will all my problems
So last month, my parents tried to force me to live in a foreign country because I was dating someone they didn’t approve of from another religion. Long story short, they finally let me come back home but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to live with them. For some background, I am 21 years old, a college student, and have never been in trouble with drugs, alcohol or the law or anything of that nature.
These past few days my mother has been pressuring me into downloading an app on my phone that gps tracks my whereabouts all hours of the day and reports it to her phone. It goes as far to tell her exactly where I am for how long etc.
I obviously don’t want to do this as I want my own independence and my own life. Since I refused, my mother turned off my phone’s ability to use internet and make phone calls.
I don’t really know what to do, and I was wondering what your opinion was on the matter. Should I turn it on and just deal with the situation? Or do you believe a 21 year old has the right to their own privacy and life?
thanks to everyone in advance!
