FOUR years ago Generations The Legacy Actress Letoya Makhene wrote a beautiful love song.
However, Makhene (31) did not release the song at the time because she could not dedicate it to anyone as her marriage is on the rocks.
Now that she is divorced and moved on, she is ready to unleash her debut single I get Weak
The single will be launched tomorrow.
Makhene was married to Zimbabwean Privilege Mangezi for nine years.
The actress, who plays Tshidi on the SABC1 soapie, said she was now releasing the song featuring Qhubani DJ Qness” Ndlovu, because she was in a wonderful relationship with my special man”.
Four years ago when I wrote the song I was in a very bad space but I was not heartbroken. I didn’t want to write about how bad love was to me then. I want people to know that love is a beautiful thing,” said Makhene.
Talking about the song, she said: It’s a declaration of my love expressed through music. The inspiration behind the song is how happy I am in my current relationship. Love is a physical, mental and spiritual connection that is felt on all levels.”
Makhene, the daughter of veteran musician and anti-apartheid activist Blondie, said that one of the things that makes her happier in her new relationship was that her new man was good with her three kids.
I can confirm to you that my man is not in the industry and he’s not a public figure at all, but a man who has touched my heart. I would also like to respect his privacy,” said Makhene, refusing to name her beau.
Makhene was a member of a group called School Girls and they released two albums in 1998. For now I will release singles to prepare for my debut album that I will announce at a later stage.
