Itumeleng Khune has shocked the footballing fraternity when he boldly declared that he is better than Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas. Khune made the startling revelations earlier today during a Kaizer Chiefs training at the home training ground at Naturena.
Iker Casillas is a world cup winning goal keeper and former Real Madrid captain who now plays for Porto. The 34 year old goalkeeper has numerous awards and shining career. He has won the world’s best goalkeeper for a record five consecutive times. In 2008 he was among the nominees for European Footballer of the Year where he came fourth.
Itumeleng Khune’s claim to fame however was on 1 December 2007 when he saved three penalties in the Telkom Knockout Final. He won the PSL footballer of the year award in 2012-2013. he is the only goal keeper to win this prestigious award.
However, social media was quick to pick on Khune’s utterances and one Thabiso Mlilo said “I want whatever Khune is smoking, he is not even the best in South Africa. Iker is a legend. Among the best in the world”. Some social media however supported Itu’s claim saying Itu does not have the recognition he deserves because he is black and from Africa.
Itumeleng Khune was not available for comment though at the time of publishing this satire piece.
