The New York Times has reported that Apple is working on new security measures for the iPhone which will make it nearly impossible for the government to break.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently revealed that the United States government asked them to build a backdoor for an iPhone.
Cook explained that the backdoor would involve building a new version of the iPhone operating system to load onto one of Apple’s devices that was recovered during the investigation of the San Bernadino attack.
The new software would allow the FBI to “brute force” an iPhone’s unlock code by allowing a passcode to be input electronically.
According to the report, Apple is now developing new security measures that will make it almost impossible for the government to break into a locked iPhone.
“If Apple succeeds in upgrading its security – and experts say it almost surely will – the company will create a significant technical challenge for law enforcement agencies,” stated the NYT.
