An exclusively for whites only dating website has come under fiery criticism
But the founder of WhereWhitePeopleMeet.com has defended himself against claims that he is a racist. To drive home his point, he revealed that he even once dated a black woman.
Sam Russell, 53, and his wife Jodie officially launched their site last week, announcing its grand arrival with a billboard that has already come under fire.
But Russell said his site is merely about ‘equal opportunity’. ‘The last thing in the world I am is racist,’ he told Post.
‘I dated a black woman once. I helped raise a young black man,’ he said, after citing his dating history. ‘I just believe it is hypocrisy to say ‘one group can do this, but another can’t.”
Russell argues that there are already various dating websites that cater to ‘just about every origin, race, religion and lifestyle out there,’ as his website reads.
‘I am sure some of you are wondering about the concept and need for a dating website titled ‘WhereWhitePeoplemeet.com,’ he writes in the site’s ‘About’ section.
