Mini has unveiled its John Cooper Works Convertible, which features a 2.0-litre 170kW (228hp) engine and folding canvas roof.
The 4-cylinder power unit is paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, and will take the car from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds.
Sports suspension and Brembo brakes keep the Mini on the right side of the barrier line, with wheel options including 17 or 18-inch mags.
The JCW Mini will start at $36,450 (R600,000).
