Marie Claire has responded to the social media outrage over the internship stipend of R30 a day offered by the local fashion magazine.
Associated Media Publishing's Julia Raphaely said the objective of the internship was to give a multitude of people the opportunity to learn and be mentored.
According to Raphaely, 50% of the Marie Claire interns go on to fill job positions elsewhere.
