Maggz is no stranger to SA Hip Hop listeners. Regarded as one of Msanzi’s finest on the M.I.C. and a Soweto rap pioneer, SA rap fans have waited patiently in the hope that Maggz would drop a follow up album to his debut “The Break Out” way back in 2008.
M.A. Double has since been on a album hiatus and with every passing year came the promise of a new album with rumours randomly popping up that Maggz was in studio working on a new project but all we got was singles & features. Don’t get us wrong though!!! M.A. Dubb has some of the hottest rap features in SA Hip Hop (Da L.E.S – Heaven, DJ Vigilante – Pasop, L-Tido – Steve Kekana Remix) as well as some dope singles (Cho Dlozi, Change, No Tweets Allowed) but when will the new album drop?
Now apart of arguably SA Hip Hop’s best rap crew Cash Time Life, Maggz drops his first single for the new year in “Hip Hop (Bebathini)” a massive street banger & if this joint is anything to go by we’re keeping our fingers crossed in the hope that 2016 could be the year we finally see Dubbz release his long awaited sophomore project.
