FORMER world boxing champion, Vuyani “The Beast” Bungu, has allegedly taken a serious knock!
Sunday Sun has been informed the one-time multimillionaire is now a messenger.
The 13-time world boxing champ, who made more than R10 million between 1994 and 2005, once confessed he was broke in 2010.
But sources claim his situation has gone from bad to worse . . .
A source said Vuyani, who used to drive around in flashy cars and was admired by many, is now a shadow of his former self.
The source claimed Vuyani’s cash worries have led him to take a job as a driver-cum-messenger at the Buffalo City Municipality.
The source claimed he’s a full-time driver.
“Vuyani has fallen on hard times and has resorted to being a driver for the municipality. “He was forced to go back and live on the dusty streets of Mdantsane after he had lost his posh home in Beacon Bay, in East London,” said the source.
Another source claimed Vuyani tried to earn extra cash by training boxers, but couldn’t make enough money out of it due to a lack of tournaments.
“He’s also a boxing commentator for the SABC, but that too doesn’t help. Vuyani has himself and others to blame for not being wise enough with use his money,” claimed the source.
Said Vuyani: “Yes, I work for the Buffalo City Municipality.”
Asked about being broke and working as a driver/messenger, he said: “Yaz’ yini baba, I’m at a funeral right now. Call me tomorrow and I’ll explain to you in detail.”
