As the year draws to a close, many rappers are either taking stock of their past 12 months or locking themselves in the studio, plotting on 2016. Not Wiz Khalifa. The Pittsburgh rapper today (Dec. 15) drops Cabin Fever 3, a new mixtape that features guest turns from an impressive–and impressively disparate–cast of collaborators. The 11-track set includes contributions from Taylor Gang affiliate Chevy Woods, but also from Problem, Project Pat, Yo Gotti, King Los, Kevin Gates, Curren$y, K Camp and a series of spots from Juicy J. On the other side of the boards, Wiz benefits from beats by Sonny Digital, Ricky P, TM88, DP Beats and the legendary Easy Mo Bee. Stream the tape in its entirety below:
Khalifa dropped the first installment of the Cabin Fever series in February of 2011, a little over a month before his major-label debut, Rolling Papers, was rolled out by Atlantic. It was received warmly by his fans, and is often cited as a spiritual successor to his breakthrough mixtape, 2010’s Kush & Orange Juice. The second Cabin Fever was issued in October 2012, two months ahead of O.N.I.F.C. The only mixtape the “We Dem Boyz” star unveiled in the time between Cabin Fevers 2 and 3 was 28 Grams, which was defined by experiments in trap.
