SEXY TV and radio presenter Pearl Modiadie has taken another big step toward changing her legal status!
First, she said “yes” when her boyfriend, Nkululeko Buthelezi, popped the question during their trip to Zambia.
And now, the Zaziwa presenter’s family has accepted Nkululeko’s lobola proceedings over the weekend.
Sunday Sun sources said Nkululeko sent his elders to Pearl’s family for a traditional ceremony in Tembisa, in Ekurhuleni, last week.
Sources who attended the lobola ceremony told the People’s Paper Pearl wore a traditionaldoek on her head.
“They covered her body with a huge Nchali blanket,” said the source.
In conversation with her Metro FM co-host, Amon Mokoena, on Monday, Pearl said she was happy to go to work during the festive season because it offered her something else,
“But I’m also looking forward to going home because my fiance is there,” she responded when Amon asked how she feels about going to work when other people are on holiday.
The couple has been sharing their romance on social media with posts of their happy “baecations”.
The two got engaged after dating for longer than five months.
After Nkululeko had asked for her hand in marriage, Pearl said:
“I saw this big question on the ground during our helicopter ride and after crying for quite a bit, I composed myself and said YES!”
The couple have been posting pictures of their happy relationship on social networks.
The source said they’re planning to walk down the aisle some time next year.
“They haven’t decided on a date but they’re working on it,” said the source.
Pearl and Nkululeko did not answer their phones or respond to any of our SMSes at the time of going to print.
