INTERNATIONAL singer Davido is the latest celebrity to become a victim of crime in Mzansi.
The Nigerian star, whose real name is David Adeleke, was reportedly robbed with his team while travelling from OR Tambo airport to a hotel on Friday night.
Yesterday, Sunday Sun reported that two armed men pounced on them as they stopped at a robot, opposite Grayston Shopping Centre in Joburg.
The Skelweu singer and his group were robbed of a large amount of cash, Rolex watches, cellphones, gold chains, iPads, laptops, bags and IDs.
His manager, Kamal Ajiboye said: “We arrived at the airport at about 8.40pm.
“Davido and some of us withdrew money before we left for the hotel. On our way to the hotel a grey VW Polo pulled up at the traffic lights. Two armed guys jumped out of the car and robbed us.”
A traumatised Davido, who is in Mzansi for the African Music Conference taking place on Saturday at Nasrec, said the show would go on.
Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said: “A Nigerian national alleged he was robbed in Sandown of cash, including US dollars and Nigerian currency, as well as personal possessions.
“A case of armed robbery is being investigated.”
