SABC News Online’s Twitter account took exception to the news that President Jacob Zuma was in line to receive a R4-billion VIP jet – tweeting “What. The. Fuck.” in response to an article by News24.
The tweet, pictured below, was deleted from the SABC’s timeline, and an apology issued.
“SABC News would like to apologize for an earlier tweet that had profanity. [This] was done by someone without authority to be on our account.”
According to reports on 8 November, the specifications for the new jet include a “private bedroom suite, a bathroom, and a conference room for eight people”.
The aircraft must be able to carry at least 30 passengers and have a range of 13,800km.
