FNB announced on 2 November that it has 100,000 active SIMs on its mobile network service. FNB launched its mobile service in June 2015.
“We didn’t expect to hit the 100,000 active SIMs mark before the end of the year, but the strong uptake by customers is an indication there’s a strong need for [the] service,” said Ravesh Ramlakan, CEO of FNB Connect.
“75% of the new SIMs are prepaid and 25% are post-paid, and 40% of customers fall within the 26-35 age.”
FNB said its Flexi month-to-month contract has received a positive response due to the fact that it can be tailored using sliders for data, voice, and SMS usage.
