ROBBERS have killed two Mzansi cops on patrol so far this week.
The latest cop victim was shot dead outside a shopping mall at Bapong near Brits in North West on Wednesday afternoon.
He was killed just after a robbery took place at the mall.
A witness said the cop and a colleague did not know there had been a robbery.
They were walking to their vehicle from a fruit stall when the robbers ran out of the complex shooting.
“The next minute one of the policemen was down.
“The other cop took cover and the robbers drove off in a getaway car, nearly causing an accident,” he said.
Captain Paul Ramoloko confirmed one of two Mooinooi cops on patrol was shot dead after a robbery at a big store.

On Monday two police officers from the Siloam Police Station were attacked in Lwamondo while they were chasing suspected armed robbers.
Warrant Officer Thomas Mabada was shot dead at close range.
“The suspects were arrested by detectives and crime intelligence members who were investigating cases of business robberies in the Mogwadi area,” police spokesperson Ronel Otto said yesterday
