Facebook is getting rid of the “Other” message inbox on its platform – the place where messages from users who you were not friends with ended up.
According to a post by Messenger head David Marcus, the Other folder will be replaced by Message Requests.
If a Facebook user who is not friends with you wants to make contact through Messenger, you will receive a message request in your standard inbox.
You can accept or reject the message request, while Facebook promises to “ruthlessly combat” spam messages trying to take advantage of the update.
