Extraordinary life ... Ronnie, left, and Donnie share a home in Dayton, Ohio

Maureen Galyon gave birth in 1951, she had no idea she was expecting two babies - let alone conjoined twins. The tots joined at the torso, were not expected to survive the night as baffled doctors tried to work out if they could be separated. Now, at 57, Ronnie and Donnie are the world’s oldest conjoined twins and have amazed the medic.

The world's oldest conjoined twins were Ronnie and Donnie Galyon, born on October 28, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, USA. Although they were conjoined at the abdomen and shared a lower digestive tract, each had its own heart, lungs, and other vital organs. The twins lived remarkable lives and became well-known for their longevity.

Ronnie and Donnie held the Guinness World Record for being the oldest conjoined twins. They lived well into their 60s, surpassing previous records. The twins spent much of their lives traveling with sideshows and circuses before retiring. Despite the challenges they faced, they could live independently with their family's help.

Ronnie and Donnie Galyon passed away on July 4, 2020, at the age of 68, in hospice care in their hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Their long life together was a testament to their resilience and the support they received from their family and community.
