She said it also played a role in promoting local music overseas.
“This is a big festival.
“It has opened doors for over 60 artists, who were booked for overseas gigs after last year’s festival.
“Good stories must be told about it,” said Nomzamo.
The mayor of eThekwini, Zandile Gumede said the festival will not only benefit music lovers but will also assist economic growth.
“Last year’s festival contributed millions of rands to this municipality.
“We hope this year will be even bigger and better.
“We hope people will gain from the entertainment, as well as the motivational and business talks.”
Gumede said that American author and motivational speaker TB Joshua will be at the festival.
She said they want people to feel motivated about their lives.
“That is why there will be several authors too, including Chris Hani’s daughter Lindiwe and international author Christopher Merril, to name just two.”
