Former Miss South Africa and reigning Miss World Africa Liesl Laurie has scored an international brand endorsement deal worth 100000 US dollars.
The gorgeous model looks set to keep up with another former Miss South Africa and businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo who is probably the most successful queen to have ever been produced by the pageant post 1994.
A few weeks ago Laurie was confirmed as a new radio presenter at Jacaranda FM. After signing a one-year contract with the station, she will be presenting a night show (8pm to midnight) on Sundays from the new month.
The new international endorsement deal is considered the highlight of her career as it gives her an opportunity to take her brand to global audiences.
According to officials close to the deal, the Eldorado Park, Joburg-born beauty will be endorsing Extreme Lashes, a cosmetic brand based in the US.
The brand also has some cast members of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as its ambassadors.
Her publicist Jarred Doyle confirmed that Laurie has bagged the lucrative deal but refused to disclose figures.
"Yes we can confirm that we are in the final stages of negotiations with Fabu Lite regarding an international endorsement deal. It's a dollar-structured deal but we can't disclose its financial value," said Doyle.
Business partners at Fabu Lite, Elizma Smith and Nerina Moodley confirmed the deal but said full details would be made public in due course. "We are talking to Liesl Laurie and her management team and can confirm that Liesl will be part of a brand we have brought to Africa from the US. We cannot comment on the budget," they said.
