Logic
From the moment the cinematic “Contact” hits, the album opener on Logic’s The Incredible True Story, the tone is set: a wild sonic journey is about to begin. The hour-long, cohesive effort finds the Maryland native flexing both on the mic and the boards –- he produces 10 of the 18 tracks. 6ix is back on the beatmaking tip as well, crafting that gutter boom bap reminiscent of the '90s. “Young Jesus” is a solid example, in which he gives a nod to ESG’s U.F.O." while Logic spits of his come-up and being “scared to go outside.” He gets his singing rapper on with “City of Stars” and pats himself on the back with “I Am the Greatest.” After debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, selling 135,000 copies in its first week, and nearly doubling his 2014's album Under Pressure sales, Logic may not “fuck with nobody,” but there’s proof the people fuck with him heavy.
